Tests for the effectiveness of Phitospectr in growing cucumbers in a greenhouse
The study of the effectiveness of the Phitospectr in the cultivation of cucumbers in the greenhouse by seedling method showed interesting results. The aim of the test was to see the possibility of gender covetry of female cucumber lines using Phitospectr as an alternative treatment method. For induction of plants, usually for the purpose of forming male flowers required for pollination, gibberellin or silver nitrate are used.
For completeness of research, in the greenhouse, two experiments were carried out to find the optimal number of Phitospectr. Phitospectr’s high-efficiency was established in change of the male cucumber sex when reproducing the maternal heterosis of the parental lines of hybrids.
Treatment of plants should be done by spraying in a phase of 4-5 leaves. The optimal concentration of Phitospectr is 100 mg / l. Before discharging, the seeds were warmed and disinfected in potassium permisate for 15-20 minutes followed by rinsing with clean water. The seeds were then soaked in water and in a Phitospectr (1 mg per 1). Two seeds were sown in each pot. After reaching 3-4 leaves, it was planted in a greenhouse in the ground. Before planting the seedlings, the soil was disinfected with ½ doses of Phitospectr. The leaves were treated again. All this accelerated the growth and development of the plant for 3-4 days. The beginning of flowering and mass flowering started 5-6 days earlier than usually. The use of Phitospectr reduced the duration of the vegetative period by 14 days.
